Financial Reporting

Accelerated and standardized month-end close processes, reducing close cycles through early cutoffs, automation, and upstream data improvements, while elevating team performance and deliverables.

  • Reduced close by 30 to 8 days for a Series C startup and from 5 to 3 days for a public company, while elevating team performance and deliverables.

  • Improved financial forecasts and budget vs actual analyses by leading cross-functional initiatives to improve upstream tools and processes, clarify financial requirements, and implement data cleaning and monitoring checks.

Technical Accounting

Led IPO readiness initiatives, audit preparation, and internal controls assessments, resulting in audit-ready financials.

  • Applied technical accounting standards such as ASC 606 (Revenue), ASC 842 (Leases), and public company GAAP, including process design for lease accounting, revenue recognition, and internal controls.

  • Eliminated subledger discrepancies in large external databases, identified and implemented relevant GAAP standards, and designed new sub-certification processes to get executive sign-offs.

Teams, Tools and Workflows

Implemented scalable team processes, automated cash flow statements, and enhanced reporting, directly supporting company growth, public filings, and board-level deliverables.

  • Implemented and customized accounting systems including NetSuite, Intacct, Blackline, Workiva, Expensify, Xactly, Celigo, Coupa, and RevPro (ARM).

  • Leveraged ETL and analytics tools (Power Query, Alteryx, Tableau) for scalable process improvements and reporting enhancements.
